GreenON Agriculture

By Green Ontario Fund

Helping farmers increase energy savings and decrease greenhouse gas emissions

GreenON Agriculture aims to support Ontario farm businesses in adopting cleaner technologies, helping them shrink their carbon footprint and grow their savings.

Who can participate

Ontario farm businesses who produce agricultural commodities in permanent, climate-controlled buildings (e.g., swine or poultry barns, greenhouses) or using grain dryers.

What you can get

Two funding streams are available under the GreenON Agriculture program:

  • GreenON Agriculture Retrofit Stream – Supports eligible upgrades to production facilities, such as installation of new energy curtains in greenhouses, upgrading building insulation in climate-controlled barns, upgrading barn heating systems, or retrofitting grain dryers for improved heat reclamation.

  • GreenON Agriculture Innovation Stream – Conduct commercial-scale pilots to explore, improve and progress on emerging GHG-reducing technologies, and to demonstrate their commercial feasibility for sectors with climate-controlled, agricultural facilities.

How to Get Started:

The GreenON Agriculture program is delivered by the Ontario Soil and Crop Improvement Association (OSCIA).

Visit the OSCIA website for more information on the program and how to take part.
